The Cabanas
The cabanas are roughly 15ft by 12ft, with four intern bunks (set up with inflatable mattresses) per structure. There is space underneath the bunks to store your suitcases, and daily use items. However, we will have additional storage areas on the property for you.
Showers
On the farm we have two warm water showers located within a short stroll from your cabana. Each shower is enclosed and has its own privacy curtain.
Kitchen
We have a fully functional kitchen equipped with two stoves, commercial sinks, and three large commercial refrigerators. The kitchen itself is used only by the chef, assistant chef, and Farm to Table program. However, the kitchen porch is available to all and is a great place to relax, work, and, of course, consume daily meals. Here you'll find covered picnic tables, our announcement board, racks of farm fresh bananas, and the community coffee pot. We are continuously upgrading our kitchen progressively and building a new commercial kitchen, which is currently in design phase, over the coming year.
Classrooms
Located near the kitchen, we have an open-air classroom where you'll likely be doing program work and hanging out with other interns. Here, you'll also find a station for charging electronics, blackboards for lessons and drawing, an intern refrigerator to store food and drinks throughout the semester, and plenty of table space and chairs to work at.
Laundry
We have two washing machines located close to the cabanas. Each cabana is equipped with it own drying line. During the week, you'll be assigned select days to do your laundry.
