Monday
First day back from vacation week, as a group we regrounded ourselves to the Hawaiian roots. Started our morning off with a group chant before teaming up with organic ag for some gardening. After lunch, coconut Chris visited the farm and shared with us a variety of coconuts. Along with some fresh jackfruit and sugar cane.
Tuesday
As a farm we were privileged to have back to back ohanas come and speak with us. Kalani and his wife Julie, shared with us their lifestyle and the importance of a single question. We also learned the value of listening to those that disagree with a question or statement to create diversity and allowing for everyone to have a voice.
Wednesday
As a farm, everyone spoke with their group leaders on individual projects. Bio went on a fieldtrip to learn about octopus and abalone farming.
Thursday
Thursday, we had a group of senior citizens come and tour the farm. They were able to explore our gardens and learn about what we grow and the techniques we use. Then we took a field trip to an
ecologically designed house, and the owners showed us around and described the building process and architectural aspects of their home
Friday
It was a wonderful morning waking up to the smell of delicious cinnamon rolls. As a farm we were thrilled to learn about coffee and horse behaviors. In the evening, many farmers left to start their weekend in Kona.
